Poem for the Crows

w/ Their Sharpened Teeth

snow on easter sunday and

bitter laughter at this idea of resurrecting overdoses

didn’t the farce of christ teach us anything?

the living on one side,

the dead on another, and nothing but a

scorched and barren wasteland in between

nothing but praise for the martyrs

whose work amounted to nothing in the end

we build our houses from their bones and

wait patiently to be devoured
